We begin in Agiropouli, tucked away from the tourist bustle, following an ancient path down to the bubbling springs—our first enchanting moment.
As we delve into nature, we follow narrow, timeworn trails, far from the ordinary. Along the way, we step across a gentle stream, encounter curious goats and sheep, and breathe in the aroma of wild herbs lining our path.
Then, like a hidden gem, Lappas reveals itself—an ancient settlement with over a thousand years of history, once a flourishing Roman city.
Nestled in nature and surrounded by old trees, you discover the remains of Roman baths, ancient tombs, and historic churches—silent witnesses to a rich and layered past.
There, we enjoy a heartfelt picnic, letting the history and atmosphere truly sink in. As the loop gently closes, you leave with not only beautiful memories, but a genuine piece of authentic Crete.
