We start in the small village of Nerokourou, just 15 minutes from Chania. Please make sure to arrive on time, as timing is essential when chasing a sunset.
The walk begins with a gentle uphill section of around 20 minutes. We will take it slowly, and this is the only part of the route that requires a little extra effort. Once we reach the top, we take a break at a small chapel with breathtaking panoramic views over Chania, Souda Bay and the White Mountains. From here, we'll enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.

As the sun slowly sinks behind the horizon, the landscape transforms into a sea of colours. The sky often changes from golden yellow to deep orange, soft pink and glowing shades of red, while the sea and the White Mountains reflect the last light of the day. From our viewpoint above Chania and Souda Bay, we can watch the city lights gradually come to life as daylight fades away.

The trail continues through untouched nature on dirt paths and small tracks, far away from traffic and mass tourism. Along the way we will most likely meet a few goats, enjoy the scents of the Cretan countryside and watch the landscape change colours as the sun disappears behind the horizon.
Good walking shoes are essential, as the route is not on asphalt. A small flashlight is recommended, as the last few minutes of the walk may be a little darker for some participants.

Please Note
• Good walking shoes are required, as parts of the route follow natural trails and dirt paths.
