The Walk of Apokoronas is a carefully balanced experience combining nature, history, and authentic village life. We follow old connecting paths that have been used for generations. Along the way, we pass a traditional old olive mill where olive oil was once produced, as well as historic water systems and ancient wells that still tell the story of the region’s past. __________________________________________________________________________________________ We walk along forgotten tracks, stone paths, and gentle countryside, moving at an easy and relaxed pace. The route takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, including several breaks and a shared picnic along the way. It is not a difficult hike — rather a comfortable walk designed to be enjoyed slowly. ​Along the route, we pass a traditional old olive mill where olive oil was once produced, as well as historic water systems and ancient wells that reflect how village life was sustained for generations. We pause at small rural churches and move through landscapes shaped by olive groves and dry stone walls. ​A special highlight is the visit to a unique place shaped by the life’s work of a local man. Over many years, he has created something deeply personal and unlike anything else. We arrive without prior explanation — and with a bit of luck, we may even meet him. Carefully chosen stops offer insight into traditional village life, local materials, and cultural heritage — gently woven into the experience without rushing or overload. ​Not an extreme hike.
