It’s the perfect walk for anyone who would like to experience Chania from a completely different perspective — peaceful, open and far above the busy city below.

Only about 20 minutes from the centre of Chania, this walk leads into the quiet hills of Nerokorou, where the city suddenly feels far away.
For most of the walk, wide views open across Chania and Souda Bay, with the sea almost always in sight.
Although the route is relatively short, it begins with a gentle climb that soon rewards you with beautiful panoramic views.

The path climbs gently until wide views open up over the coast of Souda Bay and Chania, revealing a perspective that feels surprisingly distant from everyday life.

Along the way, you experience a landscape that feels deeply and authentically Cretan. Small chapels appear along the path, olive groves stretch across the hillsides, and it is not unusual to encounter sheep or goats quietly moving through the countryside.
Several small side routes branch off, inviting you to explore different viewpoints before the paths meet again.

Once you reach the highest point, a small, quiet church marks the perfect moment to pause. Here, we take time to rest and fully enjoy the panoramic view over Souda Bay and the city of Chania before beginning the descent.

The return follows a winding, almost slalom-like path, guiding you gently back down through the landscape.
Old stone terraces and forgotten rural details appear along the route, slowly being reclaimed by nature — a reminder of the traditional life that has shaped this landscape for generations.
